Introducing the brand-new iQOO 12 series, now available in China. This series includes two models: the iQOO 12 Pro and the iQOO 12, which share many similarities but differ in design, displays, and batteries. Let’s delve into the exciting features of these two remarkable smartphones.
Starting with the iQOO 12 Pro, it boasts a sleek and curvaceous design with a slim frame and elegantly tapered glass panels on both sides.
Available in three stunning colors, each with its unique finish, the BMW Motorsport collaboration edition features a white design with textured porcelain enamel glass, while the black model shines with a fluorite AG glass back sporting a soft, shimmering texture.
The red model stands out with a vegan leather finish, accompanied by iQOO’s signature “wind imprint texture.” The camera island also has a distinctive Paris hobnail texture, reminiscent of the new Xiaomi 14.
The iQOO 12 Pro features a 6.78-inch E7 AMOLED display with a 1440x3200px resolution and an impressive 144Hz refresh rate. This display can reach up to 1,600 nits under normal conditions and a remarkable 3,000 nits in peak mode.
Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip with 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage, it’s designed for a superior gaming experience. Additionally, the phone incorporates a self-developed Q1 chip that ensures smooth gaming at 144Hz, offering features like low latency frame insertion and super-resolution (similar to DLSS).
For efficient heat dissipation, the iQOO 12 Pro includes a 5,705mm² vapor chamber.
Not just a gaming powerhouse, the iQOO 12 Pro boasts an impressive camera system. Its primary sensor is a 50MP 1/1.3″ OmniVision OV50H sensor with optical stabilization. The telephoto camera offers a 64MP 1/2″ sensor with optical stabilization, supporting up to 10x ‘HD zoom’ and 100x digital zoom.
The device also features a 50MP ultrawide camera with a macro mode and a 16MP selfie camera. Powering all of this is a substantial 5,100mAh battery with support for 120W wired and 50W wireless charging, with iQOO guaranteeing at least 80% battery capacity retention after 1,600 cycles.
The phone runs on Vivo‘s new OriginOS 4, based on Android 14.
Now, let’s take a closer look at the iQOO 12, available in the same three color options, each with its unique finish. The iQOO 12 distinguishes itself with a wider, glossy frame and flat front and rear panels. It shares the same powerful chipset and impressive camera system as the iQOO 12 Pro but features a different display, battery options, and charging capabilities.
Additionally, there is a variant with 12GB of RAM.
The iQOO 12 features a 6.78-inch display with a 2800x1260px resolution, still offering a maximum 144Hz refresh rate. You have the choice between a 5,000mAh battery and a 4,880mAh battery, both supporting 120W wired charging but lacking wireless charging capabilities.
Both the iQOO 12 and iQOO 12 Pro are available for pre-order today and will be on sale starting November 14. The iQOO 12 Pro starts at CNY 4,999 for the base model, with prices going up to CNY 5,999 for the highest configuration.
